Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 3, 2026
This policy explains what data the ClipFetch Chrome extension ("ClipFetch", "we", "us") accesses and how it is used. ClipFetch's single purpose is to detect videos on the page you're viewing and let you download them — nothing in this policy goes beyond that.
What ClipFetch does
ClipFetch detects videos on the web page you are currently viewing and lets you download them to your computer. That is its only function.
Data we access
Page content, to find videos
When you open the ClipFetch popup, a script scans the current page's
content (<video> elements and links to video files)
to find downloadable videos. This happens entirely within your
browser. We do not transmit page content to any server we control, and
nothing is collected or stored about pages where you don't use the
extension.
Locally stored data
ClipFetch stores the following only on your own device, using Chrome's built-in extension storage:
- Which video URLs you have already downloaded, so they aren't offered to you again.
- How many downloads you've made in your current browser session, to enforce the free-plan limit.
This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us.
Payment data, Pro upgrade only
If you choose to upgrade to ClipFetch Pro, the payment is processed by ExtensionPay, using Stripe as the underlying payment processor. When you do this, you interact with a checkout page hosted by ExtensionPay/Stripe, not by us; they receive your email address and payment details to process the one-time charge. ClipFetch only ever receives back a simple paid/unpaid status for your account — we do not see, receive, or store your payment details or card information.
See ExtensionPay's privacy policy and Stripe's privacy policy for how they handle this data.
What we don't do
- We do not sell your data to third parties.
- We do not track your browsing history.
- We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond finding and downloading videos.
- We do not operate a backend server that stores your personal data — everything stays local to your browser, except for payment processing as described above.
Permissions
ClipFetch requests the following Chrome permissions, used only as described above:
activeTab- Detect videos on the page you're viewing, only when you open the popup.
downloads- Save a video to your computer when you click Download.
storage- Remember already-downloaded videos and your session's download count, locally.
-
host_permissions
(all sites) - Videos can appear on any website, so detection needs to run wherever you use it — also used to check a video's file size before download, and for the Pro payment flow to reach extensionpay.com.
Changes to this policy
